Following our theme of simple, quick to cook dishes, we are going to look at Egg Fried Rice, the simple way. This is one of the simplest dish to make and takes less than 10 minutes to cook a hot tasty bowl of egg fried rice. Fried rice is a versatile dish. You can cook this with a minimum of vegetables and no meat or with lots of vegetables, scrambled egg and choice
of meat.
You can make a spicy version with just 2 extra ingredients or make one as described below. The combination and choices are endless and also allows for more creativity in the kitchen.
Lets go straight to the required items
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs – beaten
- 3 cups Left over cooked white or brown rice – mostly left over from previous day in the fridge
- 1/2 Kale salad bag – all the vegetables are here
- 1 tsp Chilli oil
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp Ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp Granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp Soy sauce – optional
Steps
- Heat wok and add sesame oil
- Add egg and little salt and cook in medium heat until the eggs are fully cooked.
- Add 1/2 pack of Kale vegetables
- Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes and then reduce heat
- Add precooked cold white/brown rice. Do not mix yet.
- Now add pepper powder, chilli oil and sugar
- Add soy sauce if you prefer
- Add some salt to taste
- Now increase the heat to medium and stir the rice and spices
- Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes and transfer fried rice to a serving bowl
Hot tasty bowl of Fried rice is ready.
