French Toast – With a twist

Who doesn’t like a nice, warm, fresh french toast with syrup and whipped cream. With a just a few ingredients you can have a lovely breakfast toast , anytime of the day with a nice cup of tea or coffee.

The ingredients are few and the steps are so simple, but the taste is so good, you would be making this more often after you have tried this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom/elaichi powder 
  • 1 cup milk
  • White bread

Steps

  • In a bowl beat the eggs with all items listed above
  • Switch on the stove and set non stick pan on medium heat
  • Take one slice of white bread and dip quickly in the egg batter, on both sides and place on the pan
  • Cook for about 1 minute and then flip
  • Ensure the egg batter is fully cooked before serving
  • Serve hot with maple syrup and whipped cream

Tips

  • The bread should be be dipped quickly on both sides
  • Do not let the bread soak in the egg batter
  • Cardamom gives a unique flavor and aids with digestion
  • Hot French toast goes really well with Vanilla ice cream scoop
