Simple Potato Fry

A very simple super quick recipe with just 3 ingredients. This takes about 5 minutes to prep and about 3 minutes to cook. This is one of our favorite quick food right now. Kids love it, and its so easy to cook and best of all it goes well as a side dish to any number of south Indian food.

Lets look at the ingredients and then the steps

Ingredients


  • Yellow potatoes 3 large ones
  • 2 tblsp table salt
  • 500 ml water
  • 4 tblsp olive oil

Thats it. 3 actual ingredients and water to boil. Simple.

Steps

1 – In a Wok or deep pan, add 2 tblsp salt with 500 ml water and boil

2 – In the meantime, skin and chop the yellow potatoes to 1/2 inch pieces

3 – When the water is boiling in the pan, add the potato pieces and cook for about 4 minutes.

4 – After 4 minutes reduce heat to the lowest in the stove and remove the potatoes, carefully, from the water and keep aside.

5 – Discard the hot water carefully and bring the pan back to the stove.

6 – Once the pan is completely dry, add olive oil

7 – In about 30 seconds, add the boiled potatoes and saute until nicely browned.

8 – Turn the potatoes gently to brown them evenly on all sides

9 – Once fully done, turn off the stove.

10 – Transfer all the contents of the pan to a serving bowl.

That’s it. Simple, Easy and Quick. Tastes a lot better the french fries, less salt, less oil and healthy potatoes. Whats not to love about this? Try it and let me know.
